Ars Technica, web site on technology news (founded in Cambridge, Massachussetts) has published a paper on the latest findings of cyclodextrins on atherosceloris with the title: “Sweet drug clears cholesterol, reverses heart disease—and was found by parents”.* This is a reflection on the publication in Science Translational Medicine** which reports that HPBCD-treatment of murine atherosclerosis reduced atherosclerotic plaque size and cholesterol crystal load, improved cholesterol efflux and exerted anti-inflammatory effects.
